Claudius Linton - Roots Master
Claudius "Kingman" Linton was a relatively unknown roots reggae singer from Jamaica who never got famous like his contemporaries Bob Marley and many others. Through an encounter with a producer (Ian Jones) on a beach in Negril his seventies output finally got a CD release in the 2000's. This album highlights his 70' singles output and one will hear that he had a great voice.

Ola Kingstonians, today we have here this mighty fine early dancehall deejay LP recorded by King Tubbys. Scorcher started his career in the early 70's and according to the info from many sites on the internet he died twice: Some sites say that he was shot by police in Kingston in 1982, a detailed story, but lots of other sites say that he died in 2012 at the age of 55 in hospital from a ruptured blood vessel in his head.
Familiar riddims of the time were used on this album, such as Shank I Sheck, Bobby Babylon, and the hit "Roach In De Corner" is on the Real Rock riddim, enjoy!

"Sid Bucknor has worked with all the leading studios, record labels, and artists of the time in the reggae space, such as Studio 1, Treasure Isle, Chalk Farm, Dynamic Sounds, Channel 1, Tuff Gong, and Trojan. He also worked with legendary reggae artists, including Alton Ellis, Desmond Dekker, Bob Marley & The Wailers, The Ebony Sisters, Webber Sisters, and BB Seaton. He evolved from a sound engineer to composer and producer over the years and released many of the iconic songs on his own labels JamCan, Third World and Tropical Records. Sadly much of Sid’s work has been unrecognized, and it is only now that account has been taken of his vast input to Jamaican music."
